Important Update – Australia’s 3G networks are closing

From September 1 2024, Australia’s 3G networks will be closed down which means any devices still on this network after this date will stop working. It is very important that you understand how these changes might impact you and what you need to do to stay connected. These changes will also impact your ability to make emergency calls to 000 if you are still on the 3G network.

What You Need to Do

Check your devices 
It is important that you check any of your devices that currently rely upon the 3G network as they will all need to be upgraded. This includes mobile phones, personal or medical alarms, as well as tablets and smart watches. If you have received a notice from your service provider to upgrade your device, please don’t delay. It’s important to act promptly to ensure your phone or other device continues to work.

Text “3” to 3498 to see if your mobile phone will be affected.
Check Online: Enter your IMEI into the ‘check-my-device’ tool on your service provider’s website.
