At the end of May, Care Connect commemorated National Reconciliation Week. This is a time for all Australians to honour the rich history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, which is important now more than ever.
July 7 to 14 we will celebrate NAIDOC Week. This year’s theme, ‘Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud’, represents the enduring strength and vitality of Indigenous cultures, passed down through generations despite the challenges faced. It is a symbol of connection to the land, to each other, and to the rich tapestry of traditions that define Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
During these weeks, Care Connect is reflecting on how we can listen, learn and engage more in meaningful dialogue with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and the wider community. We want to know what you want from Care Connect, and how we can help foster a society where the wisdom and contributions of Indigenous peoples are fully valued and respected.
