We trust you are keeping safe and well.
For millions of Australians, life has become a little bit easier, and returned a little closer to normality, through the latest steps in the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.
Relaxing restrictions has been made possible because the overwhelming majority of Australians are doing the right thing by practising good hygiene and physical distancing.
While this is good news, it is very important that we do not get overly excited. This is just the next phase in our response to the Coronavirus pandemic, and we would like to remind you that we need to remain vigilant and consistent when it comes to the correct use of PPE. This is essential to protect yourself and our clients.
All providers are reminded of the need to ensure you are consistently following Commonwealth guidance, and state and territory government requirements and directions on PPE use. Please also continue to check Provider Connect regularly for important updates and service protocols:
Depending on the incidence of COVID-19 in individual jurisdictions and localised areas within jurisdictions, states and territories may implement more stringent requirements on when to use PPE. It is important you remain up to date with the latest Commonwealth guidance and state/territory requirements.
The directions are available on the following websites:
The Commonwealth has also published recommended minimum requirements for the use of masks or respirators by health and care workers in areas with significant community transmission. These areminimum requirements and aged care providers and workers must also consult the directives of their relevant state health authority.
